Feeling healthier doesn’t have to mean starting over every Monday or committing to a major lifestyle overhaul. Your body responds to small, immediate inputs, such as how you move, what you drink, how you breathe, and even how you pause. The right actions can quickly improve energy, focus, and how you feel in your body. Here are five simple things you can do right now to start feeling healthier.

  1. Take a break from your phone or computer, and do five minutes of stretches. Or, put on some music and get moving.
  2. Give your brain a simple yet effective workout with a puzzle or brainteaser.
  3. Make an appointment for your next medical check-up. (And stick to it, please).
  4.  Did you floss your teeth yesterday? If not, why not? Go do it now.
  5. Put down the energy drinks and that third cup of coffee you don’t need, and drink some water instead. Your kidneys will appreciate the effort.
